HEADER: Program Overview

The Evening Master of Business Administration Program offers a highly effective way to enhance your business and management skills and revitalize your career potential. Touted as a model program for other universities, this respected University of Washington program offers the same education as our prestigious full-time day MBA program in a format that accommodates working professionals.

Most evening MBA students have an employment situation that is sufficiently stable to take on the rigorous demands of graduate-level classes, study time and group meetings. Not surprisingly, the average age, work experience and pre-MBA career progress of evening students are higher than that of day students. Evening students are most likely to use knowledge gained in the program to advance with their
current employer or to transition to a better position in a related field, often before completing the degree.

Evening students take two- and four-credit courses over 10 consecutive 10-week quarters. The first seven quarters consist mostly of required core classes; the remaining three quarters offer advanced study in a wide variety of business fields. Students generally attend classes Monday and Wednesday evenings from about 6:15-9:40 p.m. during the first six quarters. Throughout the core courses, assigned study groups of five to six people usually meet once per week on another night. Elective courses are offered in three-hour blocks meeting once a week on Monday through Thursday nights. Students usually take two electives in each of the last four quarters. Some students take an additional elective or enroll in an elective offered during the day to graduate early.
