An international applicant is anyone who is not a U.S. citizen or permanent resident at the time of the application. Please note that permanent resident applicants may still be subject to the TOEFL requirement as stipulated below. International applicants must meet the following requirements and conditions in addition to the previously listed:
Transcripts and Degree Conferral: TWO official copies of both your academic record and the diploma or other document indicating the date and conferral of your degree are required. If the original language of the academic record and diploma is not English, a certified English translation must accompany the original document. A school administrative officer of the institution from which the degree was received must certify official copies of credentials.
TOEFL: The TOEFL is required of all Executive MBA international and permanent resident applicants who do not hold a degree from a US or other English-speaking institution in accepted countries (Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, or the United Kingdom). Contact us if you are uncertain of the TOEFL requirement. Applicants who score below 600 (250 on the computer-based test) should retake the test before submitting an application.
TOEFL scores are valid for two years and must be sent directly to the University of Washington (school code 4854). Include a photocopy of the score report in your application packet. For more information, contact TOEFL/ETS Services at toefl@ets.org or call 877.863.3546. For registration information and testing locations, call 800.468.6335 or visit www.toefl.org.
Proof of Financial Ability: International applicants must submit the Statement of Financial Ability Form with supporting official financial documentation showing adequate financial resources to cover the cost of at least the first year of study before a Certificate of Eligibility (I-20 or IAP-66) can be issued.
For the 2007 calendar year the total cost of study is estimated at $54,952.00 in U.S. funds. For admitted international students, once financial ability is confirmed and an enrollment deposit is received, the University of Washington will issue the I-20 or IAP-66. When presented to a U.S. consul, these forms enable a student to obtain an F-1 or J-1 visa, respectively. International applicants are not eligible to receive a student visa to participate in the Executive MBA Program.

Current Visa Status: If you are already in the United States, enclose a photocopy of your current visa and I-20/IAP-66 in your application packet.
Application Deadlines for International Students: Due to the time needed for processing, international applicants for the Executive MBA are strongly encouraged to apply by the early application deadline (February 1st). To find more helpful information on the international student visa process, please visit the International Services Office (ISO) Web site.
Current Address: Important documents are sent to applicants during the admissions process. It is important for international applicants to inform the Executive MBA Admissions Office of any changes to their address. Please do not list a PO Box as your mailing address.
International Applicants Residing in the United States: International applicants residing in the U.S. must include photocopies of their visa stamp and the “Certificate of Eligibility” (I-20 with F-1 stamp or IAP-66 with J-1 stamp) or any current visa status forms with their application. Holders of the H-1B should send photocopies of the H-1B visa stamp and a copy of the “Notice of Action” form issued by the U.S. Immigration Service. If you expect to receive a new visa (such as an F-1 visa) for your graduate studies, please be sure to indicate this on your application. International applicants residing in the US must include BOTH a US and permanent mailing address.
